Lakeshore TaeKwonDo Academy

 

The school curriculum will be expanded to 5 days a week.  This will allow the students the opportunity to train multiple times per week and will allow them to move thru the belt ranks at a quicker and easier pace.  See the Contact Information for a map.

Tae Kwon Do is an ancient Korean form of martial art developed 2000 years ago as unarmed self-defense.

Tae      means to kick with the foot
Kwon   means to punch with the hand or fist
Do        means the art, the method

Simply put it means the art of kicking and punching.

Taekwondo has evolved into one of the most popular martial arts in the world.  It has become an international Olympic sport, practice by millions worldwide.

Objectives of Taekwondo

1. To develop an appreciation for Tae Kwon Do as a sport and as an art
2. To achieve physical fitness through positive participation
3. To improve mental discipline and emotional equanimity
4. To learn self-defense skills
5. To develop a sense of responsibility for ones self and others
6. To have FUN!!!

Disciplines of Taekwondo

Taekwondo has four disciplines which are patterns (forms), sparring, self-defense, and the break test.
